JYPI offers unique programs to Washington DC Area teens, including:
8th and 9th Grade Philanthropy Programs
- 25 teens contribute $500 each and manage
a philanthropic fund of approximately $25,000. JYPI provides a $-for-$
match of teen contributions
- An excellent post Bar/Bat Mitzvah tzedakah project
- Teens consider grant applications from local, national and international agencies
10th – 12th Grade Philanthropy Programs
- 25 teens contribute $250 each and manage
a philanthropic fund of approximately $10,000. JYPI provides a $-for-$
match of teen contributions
- Four focused sessions provide an overview of communal needs. Teens then make informed philanthropic choices
- A post-Confirmation opportunity that strengthens teens' connections to Judaism prior to college.
Service Learning
- Teens perform diverse activities in
community service as they learn Judaism's views about caring for others
and repairing the world
- Community Service hours meet school requirements
- One to two activities per month.
Alumni Programming
- Alumni give grants to local youth groups to encourage social justice programming
- Alumni lead Synagogue Education sessions on tzedakah and philanthropic giving for local synagogues, schools and youth groups
- Several other exciting programs throughout the year

- Summer Service Learning Day Camp in August
- Community Service international trip in August
