JYPI offers a variety of programs in service and experiential learning for 8th-12th graders in Maryland, Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. Click here to view a brochure about JYPI's programs.

Summer Programs:

Summer Service Learning Camp – Spend six days engaging in hands-on community service, addressing a variety of needs in our local community, and reflecting on the issues within a Jewish context afterwards. Earn SSL hours and make lots of new friends!
The 2008 Summer Service Learning camp has been filled. Please email atipton@pjll.org for more information or to register for camp in 2009!

Youth Philanthropy:

Teens participate in a semester or year long curriculum of philanthropy training. Teens contribute to a communal fund that JYPI matches dollar-for-dollar. The youth philanthropy groups meet monthly to explore the principles of philanthropy and the needs of society, using site visits and interviews with program staff and service recipients to help evaluate grant proposals from local, national and international nonprofit agencies. Then, as a group, the teens determine how to distribute thousands of dollars in grants!

Programs are available in Maryland, Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. They begin in October and January. For more information and to sign up, contact Leah Siskin at lsiskin@pjll.org

Service Learning:

Combine hands-on community service experiences with a chance to reflect upon the needs of our community and society.  Twice a month on Sunday afternoons, teens work to make the world a better place while earning Service Learning Credit hours for school. For more information and to get involved, contact Alana Tipton at atipton@pjll.org .

Mini-JYPI Philanthropy Workshops:
