Mini-JYPI Philanthropy Program

The Jewish Youth Philanthropy Institute's™ Mini-JYPI Philanthropy Program is a teen-to-teen experiential learning activity for students in 8th - 12th grade.  JYPI alumni visit synagogue youth groups and religious schools and share their experiences as philanthropists and community activists.

In each workshop, religious school students pool their resources, consider worthy organizations, and participate in a group decision making process, choosing where to donate their funds. Much time is spent on discussion and debate led by our Youth Leaders who use their personal experience as an example and strive to teach other teens what they have learned about tzedekah and tikkun olam. It is a challenging program that inspires tremendous energy and enthusiasm.

The Mini-JYPI Philanthropy Program is lead entirely by JYPI alumni who truly shine in their leadership roles.  JYPI matches every dollar the students contribute, significantly increasing the grant amounts.

Past Workshops Were held at:

  • Washington Hebrew Congregation
  • Ohr Kodesh Congregation
  • Agudas Achim Congregation of Northern VA
  • Congregation Olam Tikvah
  • B'nai Tzedek
  • Adas Israel
  • Temple Shalom
